Caustic soda supplier Ukraine: why the market now runs on imports
SUHA International Trading exports caustic soda (sodium hydroxide, NaOH) to Ukraine from offices in Dubai and Ankara. We ship flakes 98% and 99% and pearls 99% in 25 kg bags or jumbo bags, and liquid caustic soda 30–50% in ISO tanks, from Türkiye in two ways: by sea from Mersin through Reni, Constanța or Gdańsk, and by road in ADR-licensed trucks straight to your warehouse or plant, on FOB, CFR, CIF, CPT or DAP terms.
No domestic production. Ukraine’s chlor-alkali producer, Karpatnaftokhim in Kalush, stopped production after the full-scale invasion in 2022, and bankruptcy proceedings were opened against it in February 2026. Every tonne of caustic soda used by Ukrainian water utilities, oil refiners, food plants and chemical makers is now imported — mostly from EU producers in Romania, Poland and Hungary, and from suppliers in Türkiye and Asia. How caustic soda reaches Ukraine in 2026: main ports and import corridors
Since July 2026 the major container lines have suspended feeder calls at Greater Odesa, so a caustic soda supplier for Ukraine has to plan the route as carefully as the grade. We ship from Türkiye both by sea and by road, so every order has at least two ways in. These are the corridors that carry imported chemicals into Ukraine today, with indicative sea transit from Mersin.
Reni and Izmail — Danube
Main routeNamed by Hapag-Lloyd as the preferred alternative discharge port for Ukraine-bound containers. Draught limits keep parcels smaller, but for one to five containers bound for central and southern Ukraine it is the shortest Ukrainian entry.
Constanța, Romania — road or rail
Main routeThe largest port on the Black Sea and the hub Maersk now uses for cargo that was bound for Chornomorsk. Schedules are the most predictable; on-carriage by truck or rail adds cost and a border crossing. See caustic soda in Romania.

Odesa, Chornomorsk, Pivdennyi
Feeders suspendedUkraine’s largest ports and the cheapest route when services run. Maersk (22 July), CMA CGM (23 July) and Hapag-Lloyd (31 July 2026) suspended container feeder calls; the ports themselves remain open. We quote this route only with a named fallback.
Giurgiulești, Moldova — Danube

Route advisory — October 2026
Container feeder services to Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi have been suspended since late July 2026 and no restart date has been announced. Extra storage or on-carriage costs after a diversion fall on the cargo under most bill-of-lading terms, so we agree the discharge port and a fallback in the contract before loading.
